February Newsletter 2021

President's letter

I hope this issue of our VAL Newsletter finds all of you. healthy and able to work on your art, whatever that might be. I know the past months have been challenging, to say the least, but we will persevere and come out stronger than ever!  Your Victoria Art League board has been meeting and coming up with exciting changes in our technological abilities. Claire Santallena has great ideas and we are all working on getting our web page up to date with new ideas regarding membership and advancement of classes and ways to use our memberships to help artists’ creations be marketed to the public. We hope this will be explained and implemented next month. We all look forward to working with our new web designer Natasha out of Colorado Springs Colorado.   Also, please note the Youth Art Show coming up in April. This is always one of our most successful endeavors and we love to highlight young artists from the Golden Crescent. If you have children or grandchildren who are artistically inclined, please encourage them to be thinking about what they might enter this year. Our contest is from Kindergarten to Seniors in high school with numerous categories.   Once again, let me encourage you to consider gallery sitting so we can stay open. Right now only Thursday-Saturdays because of Covid ,but that will hopefully get better and better. Call Sandra Haeber at 36571157 to volunteer.

GALLERY CHANGE THIS MONTH!!!

It’s time to change out the art on the gallery walls. We would like for artists to come remove what has been up since the Bazaar and bring new artwork on Thursday and Friday, February 4th and 5th. The art will be hung then on Saturday, the 6th.

We hope to have a lot of new creations in our gallery up until the Youth Art Show in April. Remember we are open 1:00-5:00 all three days. If you need to bring them on Saturday, please bring them as early as possible after 1:00 so we will be able to get everything hung.
